Between us, we've spent decades helping people navigate hearing challenges—from community-based care in Nova Scotia to leadership roles across the global hearing industry. The Hearing Room was created around a simple belief: hearing care should be personal, transparent, and built around people, not products.
Chris Auty
Chris has spent more than 30 years in the hearing industry, working with many of the world's leading hearing aid manufacturers and helping shape hearing care programs across multiple countries. Those experiences provided valuable insight into both the strengths of the industry and the barriers people can face when seeking help.
The Hearing Room was created to put a different set of values into practice: honest conversations, independent advice, and care designed around real life.
Chris believes better outcomes come from listening first, building trust, and creating solutions that adapt to people - not the other way around.
Nova Scotia's strong sense of community made it the ideal place to build a clinic focused on those principles.
Jim Craig
Born and raised in Nova Scotia, Jim has been part of our community for more than 45 years. Having raised his family here, he understands the value of trust, connection, and looking after neighbours.
Over more than two decades in hearing care, Jim has helped people from all walks of life improve their hearing and stay connected to the moments that matter most. His approach is practical, respectful, and focused on understanding each person's unique needs.
Jim believes hearing care should be accessible, straightforward, and grounded in genuine relationships. His commitment to doing right by every client - and by the community he calls home - is at the heart of The Hearing Room.
